St. Columba's is a proud participant in the Green Schools Initiative and has been for many years.

Green-Schools is Ireland’s leading environmental management and education programme for schools.

Promoting long-term, whole-school action for the environment Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community. The programme is operated and coordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce.

Focusing on such important issues like water, litter and waste, travel, our very busy green school's committee is currently working toward our 4th Green Flag which is for Bio-Diversity.
