Welcome to St. Columba’s BNS

Situated on a five acre campus in the heart of Douglas, our school has been a centre for learning for over 100 years. Our most important resource is our staff, the Principal, class teachers and learning support teachers. We also have, in addition classroom assistants, administrative and maintenance staff

The school is well equipped with audio/visual aids. Each class has access to computer facilities including a laptop for each teacher. All classrooms are equipped with projectors to enhance the learning environment of the school. In 2009, we installed a state of the art audio visual system in the school hall which includes a 9ft screen and surround sound facilities.

The main subjects in our school are: Irish, English, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, Religion, Nature, Physical Education, Arts & Crafts, Music & Singing, Drama, Social, Personal and Health Education. French is taught in senior classes.

Penny Dinner collection 26.01.2015

The parents’ association of our school will be making a donation of non perishable food items to Cork Penny Dinners on Tuesday 27th January. All donations are welcome to the school on tuesday morning before the parents association and some our 6th class boys visit the Cork Penny dinner centre.
